Soma
Medical Uses
Soma is
a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve
impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your
brain. Soma may also be used for purposes other than
those listed here.
How
to Take Soma
Take
aspirin / Soma / codeine exactly as directed by your
doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Soma
is taken orally. The usual adult dosage of soma is
one 350 mg tablet, three times daily and at bedtime.
Usage in patients under age 12 is not recommended.
It is recommended that you take soma with food, or
with milk, to minimize the likelihood that you will
suffer an upset stomach as a result of taking the
medication.

Side Effects
If you
experience any of the following serious side effects,
stop taking aspirin / soma / codeine and seek
emergency medical attention: an allergic reaction (difficulty
breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your
lips, tongue, or face; or hives); paralysis (loss of
feeling) or extreme weakness; vision loss; agitation
or tremor; red, black, or bloody stools; or blood in
your vomit.

Precautions
Do not
take aspirin / soma / codeine if you have acute
intermittent porphyria. Soma is habit forming and
should only be used under close supervision if you
have an alcohol or drug addiction. Before taking
Soma, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease,
liver disease, an ulcer in your stomach or
intestines, a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder,
urinary retention, an enlarged prostate,
hypothyroidism, a head injury, or Addison's disease.
Take the
Soma missed dose as soon as you remember. However,
if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the
missed dose and take only your next regularly
scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of Soma.
Keep your doses at least 4 hours apart from one
another.

Store
aspirin / Soma / codeine at room temperature away
from moisture and heat. Keep Soma and all
medications out of the reach of children.

Skelaxin |
|
Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant. Skelaxin is used,
in conjunction with rest and physical therapy,
to treat injuries and other painful muscular
conditions. Skelaxin may also be used for
purposes other than those listed.
Take
Skelaxin exactly as directed by your doctor. If
you do not understand these directions, ask your
pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to
you.
If
you experience any of the following serious side
effects, stop taking Skelaxin and seek emergency
medical attention: an allergic reaction (difficulty
breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of
your lips, tongue, or face; or hives); or yellow
skin or eyes. Other, less serious side effects
may be more likely to occur. Continue to take
Skelaxin and talk to your doctor if you
experience drowsiness or dizziness; headache,
nervousness, or irritability; or nausea, upset
stomach, or vomiting. Side effects other than
those listed here may also occur. Talk to your
doctor about any side effect that seems unusual
or that is especially bothersome.

Flexeril |
Flexeril is a muscle relaxant used to treat muscle
spasms. Flexeril is an invaluable medicine for
many patients.
It is important that you mention in the medical
questionnaire all prescriptions and over-the-counter

if you are also taking a monoamine oxidase

medicines. Alcohol adds to the dizziness and
drowsiness caused by cyclobenzaprine. Limit
alcohol intake. Do not start or stop any medicine
without doctor or pharmacist approval.
