FAMVIR® (famciclovir) is a prescription oral antiviral medication that is indicated for treatment of recurrent genital herpes, suppression of recurrent genital herpes, and treatment of recurrent herpes simplex virus infections (genital herpes and cold sores) in HIV-infected patients. Famvir is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses including shingles, genital herpes, and cold sores (in people with HIV).
 

Famvir Directions

Famvir Side Effects

Famvir Precautions

Famvir Drug Interactions

Probenecid (Benemid) may increase the effects of Famvir and lead to dangerous side effects. You may need a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment if you are taking probenecid.
